Hi. I just added a few more drawing in the usual style. All are pencil on plain A4 copy paper.
Daily drawings: #146-148 added
Daily painting: #13 added
#13 Curious frog. Paraphrase. Alkyd (griffin) on acrylic underpainting on acid free 100 gram sketching paper in A4 format. Normally oil colours bleed through and eventually destroys the paper but alkyd dries so fast that this doesn’t happen. Painting with Griffin is rather strange. It becomes sticky too fast for my taste. Anyway it was fun to do. Painted 2021.05.17
Daily paintings: #1-12 added
Finally I got my first daily paintings scanned and uploaded. The paintings are meant to of a sketchy nature. All of these paintings have major flaws. But the rules are clear: Each painting must be completed in a single session with no subsequent alterations. Going back and changing something is not in the spirit of daily paintings. Painting #4 and #10 are missing for some reason. All the paintings shown here are on 100 gram acid free sketch paper in A4 format. All paintings were done with home made casein tempera or gouache based on modified corn starch (bio-plastics). The Light Weight Method was used with these home made paints (more on this method another time). Painting #5 is the only exception. It was painted with commercial paints. All the paintings are experimental.
#1 Man with wide eyes and horns. Casein paint on ground of modified corn starch (kind of gouache). Painted 2021.05.03

#3 Red car. Paraphrase. Casein paint. Painted 2021.05.05
#4 Missing
#5 Person with heavy corpus. Mixture of water-mixable oil colour and casein media from Richeson (this mixture behaves much like acrylics). Aquarelle paper, 26 cm x18 cm. Painted 2021.05.06
#6 The dance of the fish plant. Casein paint. Painted 2021.05.07
#7 Vases and jars. Paraphrase. Modified corn starch. Painted 2021.05.08
#8 Pears. Paraphrase. Modified corn starch. Painted 2021.05.09
#9 Jars and copper vase. Paraphrase. Modified corn starch. Painted 2021.05.10
#10 Missing
#11 Tomatoes. Still life composition. Modified corn starch. Painted 2021.05.11
#12 Blue vase with flowers. Paraphrase. Painted 2012.05.15
Daily drawings: #120-145 added
Here are 25 new drawings in pencil on A4 copy paper. There were all made in one session after lots of sushi and wine. I remember putting three different albums on the record player during so it must have taken a few hours. It’s amazing how music affects the movements of the pencil without any effort. One album in particular resulted in rather bad drawings that ended in in the waste bin – the music was very nice thought. I guess that not all music is made for drawing sessions
Daily drawings: #116-119 added
Daily drawings: #113-115 added
Drawing #113 has some twisted biological shapes as well as a line that outlines a city as a child would draw it. It also contains a cup for some weird reason. Pencil on A4 copy paper.
Drawing #114 has a city outline including a windmill. With waves below and fish, net and hook above, it of course has a child like style. Who’s facing trouble, fish or mill? Pencil on A4 copy paper.
Drawing #115 is just simple sketch of my pencil case. Pencil on A4 copy paper.
New daily drawings: 112 quick sketches added
Hi all. I just added 112 of my daily sketches to my gallery of drawings.
The drawings were created in April and May 2021. Most of them are pencil on simple A4 copy paper. Most likely the will turn slightly yellow in the future. However, I like this kind of paper because of its strong whiteness. Some of the drawings are made with black ball pens.
My aim is to make at least 3 new drawing every day. I don’t intend to create beautiful works of art with these sketches because such such works will require much more sophistication and time. Rather I aim for something similar to what creative children would make. Thus, self-criticism is banished during the drawings sessions. No line is too skewed. And, I upload everything – no matter how bad. Please forgive my for offending the good taste.
Hello art world!
I just setup my brand new blog here at allanmunck.com.
On my blog I will share my thoughts on techniques and materials for making drawings and paintings. Soon I will publish small tutorials for making making paintings with egg tempera, casein, alkyd, stand-oil and many other media using a simple light weight method that can be applied to various media.
Also I will share my daily drawings and paintings whenever I got something new. I don’t aim to publish every day but as often as possible.
Please feel free to comment on any post on my website. Your comments will be visible as soon the they have been reviewed by a moderator.
